Yin embodies essential qualities that are vital for harmony in existence, as well as representing the symbol of Earth. Within Yin we can find receptivity, intuition, introspection, and nurturing. All qualities often associated with the feminine. The dual nature of existence and Chinese philosophy suggests that neither Yin nor Yang can exist in isolation; they are interdependent forces that contribute to the wholeness of life. While honoring this reflection within bodywork and beyond, Yin Space was created.
Kailin Kenney, LMT #19126, is an Oregon licensed massage therapist and owner of Yin Space. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Suffolk University, in Boston, MA, 2009, and is a graduate of East West College of the Healing Arts, in Portland, OR, 2012.
Studying the body began with a love for dance. Kailin has enjoyed over 20 years of studying different styles of dance and movement practices, including yoga. The inspiration behind her bodywork is rooted in a style of massage called Ashiatsu massage. Ashiatsu is a massage technique that involves the application of the practitioner’s feet, rather than the hands or arms, on the body. In Japanese, “Ashi” means foot, and “atsu” means pressure, which translates to foot pressure.
Kailin's therapeutic touch uses deep compressions around the body’s joints to alleviate muscle pain and stress. If you're looking to boost your immunity, heal from injury, or find relief from pain, whether acute or chronic, Yin Space will support your whole well-being!
Kailin is certified in CPR, Hawaiian Mana Lomi massage, Ashiatsu massage, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy and Orthopedic cupping therapy. Sessions for injuries sustained by motor vehicle accidents are covered by Oregon’s personal injury protection law and offered at Yin Space. Please contact us with any questions you may have regarding your personal claim or injury.
When she's not running her small business, Kailin finds joy in hiking with friends, delving into plant medicine & herbal teas, exploring new places, and expressing her creativity through dance, photography, and writing.
